Howard began his 43 year insurance “adventure” in 1979 where he started in the finance side at a worldwide Lloyds broking house before moving to the direct claims side. There he handled significant high profile claims in the Marine, Energy and Liability disciplines in the London market. After attaining his ACII, he spotted an opportunity to revolutionise the way experts’ fees were collected; Unique was then formed; and now some 21 years on, the team continues to provide reliable services for its many clients and is a trusted partner in the Lloyds market. Howard is still an integral part of the business being a mentor and guide to the team, whilst also attending market events and promoting Unique’s products.

Outside of the industry Howard spends his time walking, enjoying live music, travelling, and enjoying a glass of fine wine.

Kevin joined Unique as an Insurance Technician in February 2018 and currently handles one of our largest accounts. He specialises in various lines of business including Marine, Energy, Financial Lines and Political Risks. Kevin has over 15 years insurance experience and has also completed his CERT CII qualification. He also oversees the day to day running of the office and team.

Outside of work, Kevin enjoys spending his time on holiday and travelling around the world. Kevin is also an avid music fan and enjoys attending music concerts and is currently learning to play the guitar.

Terry has worked in the insurance industry since 1976, working for two of the largest broking houses in London before joining Unique as an Insurance Technician in June 2007. Terry has a broad range of insurance knowledge including Energy, Financial Lines, Marine, Property, Liability and Political Risks and handles one of our largest accounts. He is always available to assist and pass on his knowledge and experience to the team.

Outside of work Terry is very family orientated with four grandchildren to keep him busy and is also an avid music fan as well as enjoying the occasional visit to Twickenham.

Catherine is an Insurance Technician and focuses mainly on collections from the Marine market, but also has experience in the Energy & APH markets. She started her career in insurance as an apprentice at Unique in March 2015 and has completed her CERT CII qualification.

Outside of work, Catherine is part of an amateur dramatics group and enjoys both performing in and directing shows.

James joined Unique as an Insurance Technician in February 2021 and is continually expanding his knowledge of the insurance industry. He works in various lines of business including Marine, Energy, Cargo and Financial Lines. James also holds a degree in Politics.

In his spare time, James is frequently seen at the London Stadium as a West Ham United season ticket holder. Further to this, James also likes to travel to different cities and visits a variety of museums.

Julie joined Unique in November 2021 starting as a Credit Controller and then moving to an Insurance Technician role in April 2022.

Julie has over 30 years of insurance and reinsurance knowledge with a background in credit control and technical processing. Julie has also completed her CERT CII qualification.

Outside of work Julie loves motor racing, the theatre, dancing and entertaining friends and family. Julie loves the challenge of baking celebration cakes.

Rebecca is an Insurance Technician who started with the company in February 2021 as credit controller bringing 2 years of credit control experience with her as well as 10 years of office experience. Rebecca has recently moved into the insurance technician role and is currently studying to take her LM1 exam.

In her spare time Becky enjoys cooking, going to the gym and spending time with her family as well as their three dogs.

Sam joined Unique straight out of college in March 2023 and has complemented our already wonderful Technical Team. Sam is keen to learn and wants to expand his knowledge within the Insurance industry.

Sam studied Sport at college and has a real passion for both Cricket & Football. He currently runs his own local Cricket Team and enjoys playing on a weekly basis. Sam is also a regular at West Ham and recently travelled across Europe to support them.

Sue joined Unique in January 2020 as a Credit Controller and comes with a wealth of experience. She has been in the industry for over 30 years and is experienced on issues such as reviewing the company’s credit control procedures and developing and implementing enhancements when required. She is the Finance Manager overseeing all credit control and IBA accounting functions.

In her personal time, she enjoys cooking, eating out, reading, and spending time with her two grandchildren.

Ashleigh joined Unique as an IBA Accountant in September 2021 and handles all the accounts of the business and deals with any financial enquiries. She has 3 years’ experience in the finance industry and holds a degree in Criminology and Psychology.

Outside of work, she is passionate about learning new things, traveling and exploring new countries. She is also into her health and fitness and loves to socialise with friends and family.

Dianne joined Unique in June 2022 as a Credit Controller bringing over 25 years’ experience of credit control, the last 5 years of which is insurance related.

In her spare time Dianne is a keen baker, enjoys the great outdoors having gone on many walking holidays in the Lake District over the past few years and socialising with friends and family.
